About Valleywise Health Pediatric Unit
As Maricopa County’s premier safety net healthcare system and teaching hospital, Valleywise Health predominantly provides healthcare services to underserved, low-income and ethnically diverse populations. Valleywise Health Pediatrics Unit offers a 24-hour pediatric emergency center, a pediatric trauma unit and ICU for the most critical patients, a neonatal ICU for newborns and Arizona’s only pediatric burn unit. Our team of pediatricians works closely with over a dozen sub-specialties to provide the most comprehensive care needed for each patient.

Donations for Loving Library’s Arizona Chapter will go directly to all pediatric patients at Valleywise Health in Phoenix. The Pediatric Unit houses 108 beds and provides care for patients from infancy to young adults. Loving Library believes in supporting local businesses and will be working with local Phoenix bookstore, Changing Hands, to provide books for Valleywise Health pediatric patients.
Changing Hands is Arizona’s leading independent bookstore, offering new and used books, unique gifts, toys, and more than 300 author events every year. In Tempe since 1974, Changing Hands opened a second location in 2014 at The Newton, an innovative adaptive reuse project that re-purposed the iconic Beef Eaters restaurant in central Phoenix.
